Join the Oregon Forest Resources Institute and partners from Oregon's Partnership for Forestry Education for this classroom training focused on logging contracts, working with a logging contractor, and preparing for a timber harvest.
Using the upcoming harvest at The Oregon Garden's Rediscovery Forest as a real-world example, learn what to
include in a logging contract, such as the scope of work, responsibilities, protecting roads and other resources, slash and cleanup, and other expectations. We'll share example contracts and helpful resources, discuss other
contracts landowners may encounter, and walk through Oregon's forest operation notification process, including FERNS and alternative practices.
This training is part of an ongoing workshop series following the Rediscovery Forest harvest project through each stage of forest management, from harvest planning and a live logging demonstration this spring to site preparation and reforestation.
