Step into the forest with the Women Owning Woodlands Network and Extension Forester Jenna Deibel for a guided walk at the Metolius Preserve. Together, we’ll explore the basics of tree identification, discuss how forests function as dynamic ecosystems, and practice simple ways to cultivate mindfulness in nature. This workshop will be fully outdoors with walking up to 2 miles on mostly flat, natural surface trails of variable width. Come discover the diverse ecological and personal benefits forests provide.
Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase copies of OSU Extension's Trees to Know in Oregon and Washington and Shrubs to Know in Pacific Northwest Forests identification guides during registration or in-person. Morning coffee and light snacks will be provided.
If you are a student or if cost is a barrier to your participation, contact [email protected] for scholarship options.
